Description We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Associate to join our team situated in Bergen County, New Jersey. This role will primarily involve processing payroll changes for various employee groups using the Ceridian Dayforce system. It will also entail handling HR and payroll related inquiries and requests from managers and employees. Responsibilities: Handling employee changes in the Ceridian system, such as transfers, rate changes, promotions, address changes, and tax withholding changes Processing and maintaining all wage garnishments, including child support, tax levies, income executions, and others Running monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly reports and distributing them to the appropriate personnel and union offices Regularly auditing employee data in Ceridian Dayforce to ensure it is complete and accurate Filing or scanning all required payroll documents in the employee’s file Developing and maintaining the process for archiving employee documents according to set retention policies Assisting with the processing of all union billing Understanding 401k compliance and plan highlights Participating in all departmental audits as requested Assisting in troubleshooting and resolving payroll related issues Providing coverage within the department during the absence of a team member Maintaining current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage, hour, and tax laws, as well as the provisions in the applicable collective bargaining agreements Assisting with coordinating team project tasks to ensure deadlines are met Participating in strategic initiatives and improvement projectsRequirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing or related field Proficiency in using Ceridian and Ceridian Payroll System Experience in handling payroll for unionized employees Ability to prepare and submit union reports accurately and on time Strong numerical and analytical skills Degree in finance, accounting, or related field is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good organizational and time management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements.
