Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the Paper/Packaging industry, located in Jersey City, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining detailed employee records, and managing communication with internal and external partners in a multi-state environment. Responsibilities: Process payroll on a biweekly schedule for a large number of employees Utilize various accounting software systems like ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian for efficient processing Manage payroll responsibilities for multi-state employees, ensuring compliance with all state regulations Maintain detailed and accurate records of payroll transactions Resolve payroll-related inquiries from employees in a timely and detail oriented manner Collaborate with a team to ensure all payroll tasks are completed efficiently Conduct auditing of payroll records to ensure accuracy Administer 401k and other benefit functions as needed Ensure attention to detail in all aspects of payroll processing Maintain good communication with peers and external partners. Requirements Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems Knowledge and experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now Familiarity with Ceridian and Dayforce software Experience with 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software Good understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing procedures Capability to manage Benefit Functions Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information Familiarity with federal, state, and local payroll, tax, and employment laws and regulations Previous experience in a Payroll Specialist role or similar position is preferred Certification from the American Payroll Association is a plus Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
