Position Purpose:The Payroll Specialist provides accurate and timely payroll support for a diverse workforce across multiple union contracts and pay cycles, while ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements, labor laws, and company policies. They will work directly with Payroll Management to ensure controls are in place and monitored, to maintain the integrity of HR/Payroll data, to investigate and correct employee data when needed.This position will keep informed about changes in Federal and State laws as they pertain to Payroll processing, work as a team with the other HRSSC members, and interact with Payroll leadership on project work.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for multiple employee groups and union classifications.Maintain and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all employee files and HRIS records, including employee information, reporting relationships, position codes, salary data, etc., by maintaining consistent treatment of department controls and procedures.Calculate complex pay scenarios including prevailing wages, regular rate of pay, union dues, pension contributions, and health & welfare deductions.Process garnishments, tax levies, and other court-ordered deductions in compliance with federal and state regulations.Answer questions and assist with payroll issue resolution for all employees, utilizing a case management system for accurate tracking.Work Environment:Typical Office Environment.
