Press Operator

FULL-TIME

$19.70/hr

Duties include:

- Monitoring and controls register throughout the press run.

- Monitoring ink in fountains, coating in drums, and makes necessary corrections.

- Maintaining and filling ink foundations and setting up dampening system (checks pH and conductivity; holds at the required level).

- Washing, preserving, and storing plates as needed.

- Ensuring there is stock available for the next job.

- Communicating status of materials or job information to the following shift.

- Stocking supplies for next shift (i.e. press wash, rags, etc.).

- Assisting First Press Operator in keeping press and press area clean.

- Maintaining all lubrication points on press.

- Running the press in the absence of the First Press Operator.

- Performing all assigned work effectively and on schedule.

- Bringing all adjustments back to centerline before starting next job or form.

- Removing and gums used plates.

- Adjusting place register system for proper alignment with cylinders.

- Performing routine adjustments and maintains quality throughout the press run.

- Following instructions accurately.

- Maintaining equipment by following work procedures and performing tests and maintenance.

- Directing Press Assistant to accomplish production goals.
