A Principal Database Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership across IT. This role supports key project driven initiatives, as well as operational tasks to maintain the integrity of infrastructure environment.

What you'll do:
  • Operate in an agile software delivery methodology environment that is highly focused on developing, deploying and enhancing multi-vendor database implementations including Oracle, MS SQL, Postgres, MySQL and AWS Aurora.
  • Work collaboratively with support teams to troubleshoot and resolve Database build related issues prior to production go-live.
  • Ensure all Database components meet proper performance, compliance and capacity standards.
  • Contribute towards continual service improvement activities related to the delivery of database build services.
  • Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity architecture as it relates to the Database implementation.
  • Partner with Database Engineering and Enterprise Production Support for on-boarding and future support of newly deployed Database implementations.
  • Align risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalate appropriately

Sound like you?
  • Hands on experience with the following:
    • Oracle 19c HAS (single node DB with ASM) builds
    • Oracle 19c RAC (multi node DB cluster) builds
    • Oracle DataGuard (Active to Standby DB replication) build
    • Oracle Goldengate 19c (Object level replication from source to target) - setup and configuration
    • OEM 13c (Oracle Enterprise Manager) - Target addition, applying templates
    • Auditing, partitioning, archiving strategies
    • Performance tuning - Analyze & resolve performance issues
    • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of the following (all not necessary but more broad, the better):
    • AWS Postgres
    • VMWARE virtual infrastructure
    • RHEL, Solaris OS
    • VMAX3, Vblock and Nutanix storage
    • Containers
    • Cloud computing
    • Autosys scheduler
  • Any Database certifications or experience writing PL-SQL Stored Procedures, Python development or any scripting/automation experience are a plus but not necessary

Enterprise Product & Platform Engineering transforms the way we deliver infrastructure to our business clients. A key construct of EP&PE will be the evolution of the IT Product Manager, who will partner with the Engineering organization, the Business Aligned Service Delivery organization, the DevSecOps organization as well as our operational support teams to ensure that this organization provides high quality, commercially attractive and timely solutions to support our business strategy.
