Job summaryThe Softlines shopping team within Amazon Sponsored Products is responsible for making product evaluation and discovery easy. We partner with Softlines Retail team and use advertising to delight customers and provide them with unique browsing experiences as they shop for Apparel, Luggage, Shoes, Jewelry, and Watches. We provide the voice of Softlines customers to ad product teams and the voice of Softlines advertisers to retail product teams. We help softline advertisers reach softline shoppers on the amazon website. As a Principal Product Manager - Technical, this role will have single-threaded ownership for a new advertising program, driving product strategy and delivery, metrics and data, customer experience, packaging/marketing, and advertiser experience. Core skill areas for this role include requirements gathering, feature prioritization, product launch and marketing, cross-functional team collaboration, data collection and analytics. You will be expected to establish a vision and key priorities for the program, make appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. The person in this role will think big, have a strong bias for action, and bring a history of delivering results. Maturity, high judgment, ability to influence, and leadership are essential to success in this role. Background in digital advertising is highly preferred. We are looking for an entrepreneurial product leader who loves to tackle ambiguous problems to deliver a tailored, customized shopping experience to Amazon customers. Chart and execute a course for delivering a tailored shopping experience to individual customers on both Amazon Search and Product pages Obsess over your customers and work backwards to define tenets, customer experiences, long-term goals, focus areas and key success metrics. Develop and present working backwards documents and product plans (PRFAQs) Drive intake, planning, and prioritization of feature and enhancement requests in close partnership with engineering, science, and product partners across Amazon Influence senior leaders across Amazon by proactively communicating your vision, reporting plans and progress, and aligning with Amazon's core leadership principles

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of technical product management, program management or engineering experience
  • 2+ years of experience with end to end product delivery
  • Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
  • Experience owning roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent customer experience intuition. You obsess about customers and can translate customer needs into crisp, detailed product requirements. You are able to develop innovative product solutions that are grounded in a deep understanding of customer needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proven track record of complex and creative problem-solving, and the desire to create and build new businesses
  • Passion for building technology that delivers outstanding customer experiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions
  • Experience with online advertising, search, recommendation, personalization, or e-commerce
  • Outstanding oral and written communication
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people ranging in various technical levels
