Job Description:

Bank of America is seeking an experienced developer who can contribute to a front office technology team in Rates. The team develops, maintains and supports trading applications and services that provide trade capture, straight through processing, pricing and risk workflow to Rates businesses. Experience should include the delivery of enterprise level trading applications/services as well depth and breadth in a number of technical competencies such as Python, microservices architecture and scalable web based communication. The role is an individual contributor role involving collaboration with front office users and interaction with interest rate derivative products from a pricing, risk and trade capture perspective.

What you will do:
  • Develop server-side solutions written in python and implemented via microservices
  • Collaborate with trading, quants and other tech teams on solution approach and delivery
  • Provide escalated support of existing trade capture, pricing and risk workflow tools used by USD Swaps trading desk
  • Work within full software development lifecycle of all projects
  • Follow an agile software development approach

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.

Required Skills
  • Strong Python development skills with a minimum of 3 years working experience with Python
  • Experience working on large enterprise systems with numerous clients and complex workflows
  • Expertise in building scalable web services
  • Knowledge of multiprocessing and multithreading
  • Familiarity with microservice based architecture
  • Good communication and problem solving skills

Desired Skills
  • Ability to liaise and work with front office users including trading desks
  • Knowledge of Rates markets and products
  • Experience designing and implementing trading systems
