The QA Lead develops and establishes quality assurance standards and measures for the information technology services within the organization. This individual will also gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. This will include writing test plans and scripts for tracking defects and fixes in product development, software application development, information systems, and operations systems. The QA Lead will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing in order to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives. The QA Lead will identify best practices in automated testing and create the roadmap for transition from manual to automated testing practices.

  • Applicants must possess 5-8 years direct experience in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of quality assurance standards for software testing
  • Experience transitioning teams from Manual testing to Automated testing environment, assist in selection of Automated testing tools
  • 4+ years in manual testing
  • Develops and establishes quality assurance measures and testing standards for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications
  • Solid understanding of testing methodologies and techniques
  • Sound knowledge of industry-standard test management solutions including Client Quality Center (QC) and Client Quick Test Pro (QTP).
  • Developing and presenting Quality Assurance/Testing metrics and reports.
  • Experience with multiple Software Development methodologies including Agile (Scrum), Waterfall, and Iterative.
  • Prepares and delivers reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects
  • Analyzes documentation and technical specifications of any new application under deployment or consideration to determine its intended functionality
  • Conducts internal audits to measure and assure adherence to established QA standards
  • Oversee testing of new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications; assists in development of change control processes, practices, and guidelines
  • Direct hands-on experience with ad hoc query programs, automated testing tools, and reporting software
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
  • Retail experience is required
