Radio System Technician

Description: Operations, administration, and maintenance of large, multi-site, digital wireless communications systems including conventional and trunked land mobile radio systems.Conduct proactive (preventive) and reactive maintenance on complex digital land-mobile radio, microwave, and fiber optic communications systems.Collect and analyze test instrument data and translate into actionable measures to repair, improve, optimize, or calibrate RF, microwave, or fiber communications systems.10+ years experience in operations and maintenance of large, multi-site, digital wireless communications systems including conventional and trunked land mobile radio systems, MPLS microwave networks.Demonstrate practical experience and responsibility for operating systems using one or more of the following digital LMR air interface technologies: P25 TDMA, TETRA, iDEN, DMR, NXDN, and at least one of the following commercial air interface technologies: 3G, 4G/LTE, IS-95, IS-136, CDMA, UMTS, HSDPA.Demonstrated operational knowledge and experience with various network transport technologies including: MPLS, T1, OC, SONET, DS1, DS3, ATM, EPL.Have proficient knowledge of fundamental networking and protocols to include L2TP, TCP-IP, UDP, Multicast, Unicast, SNMP, SMTP, NTP, OSI layer, etc.RF communication networks encompassing analog, digital, T1, fiber, microwave, SCADA, backup power and network elements.
