This high-status company is in need of filling a position for a Salesforce Commerce Cloud Principal Engineer. This role is FT and will be in office 3 days a week. In this role, the Principal Software Engineer (Ecommerce) will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Global Digital Ecommerce Platforms. You will collaborate with experts in the digital commerce space to develop innovative product solutions. The team is leveraging the best-in-class digital commerce tools, and you will have the opportunity to hone you experience with them and help evolve our application of them.

Responsibilities and To Be a Good Fit For This Role You Must Have:

  • Envisioning the overall eCommerce solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements; and define technologies, patterns and best practices to materialize it Reviewing architecture and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, NFRs, etc., and ensure that all relevant best practices are followed
  • Developing and designing the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements; and defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks to materialize it
  • Carrying out POCs to make sure that suggested design/technologies meet the requirements
  • Understanding business use cases and technical requirements and be able to convert them in to technical design which elegantly meets the requirements
  • Writing and reviewing design document explaining overall architecture, framework, and high-level design of the application for the developers
  • Ensuring adherence to sound architecture principles, engineering guidelines and coding standards. Writing and reviewing great quality code
  • Mentoring team members in projects and helping them keep up with new technologies
  • Driving technical process improvements to site release strategy through DevOps practice

    Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience with Digital Commerce solutions in the retail Industry.
  • Experience in greenfield ecommerce application design, solution architecture and development using best practices and modern frameworks
  • 5+ years' experience in large end-to-end Salesforce Commerce (Demandware) implementations across multiple geographies. Certification preferred
  • Ability to implement important elements of the application which includes setting up the SFRA, backend integrations, multi-geography architecture and application functionality
  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and debugging skills across multiple browsers, devices and environments
  • 5+ years' hands-on experience in web technologies including: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON, AJAX, JQuery, web analytics, XML, web services/API's (REST), and open source packages/libraries
  • Experience in Implementation of various tools for code reviews, version control and deployment
  • Experience in release management and Continuous Integration methodologies
  • Proficient in communicating and driving technology solutions that support business objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively and manage partnerships with business and technical stakeholders all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with agile development methodology and collaboration tool such as Teams, JIRA, Confluence.

Education:

  • B. S. degree in computer science or similar degree or equivalent work experience

    Skills:
  • Expertise in Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C (Demandware)
  • Expertise in digital commerce competencies like commerce experience, product and merchandising, checkout and account management, order fulfilment and insights and analytics
  • Expertise in CMS, DAM, PIM, payment gateways, tax engines, fraud, CDN solutions and knowledge of OMS, and ERP systems
  • Expertise in multiple development languages including JavaScript, Java, HTML, XML, and JSON
  • Able to create high quality technical documentation including architecture and data flow diagrams.
