Job DescriptionSmall Molecule Analytical Research and Development (SM ARD) is seeking a highly motivated Scientist-Microbiologist to join the growing Microbiology Center of Excellence (COE). Based at our company's Headquarters in Rahway NJ, this position is responsible for supporting tour company Portfolio which includes small molecule, biologics and vaccines. Responsibilities vary day to day from routine product and environmental testing , supporting special studies in support of manufacturing and supporting anyall facets for the assessment and introduction of alternate microbiological methods. While working within a fast-paced, integrated, multidisciplinary team environment, the candidate is expected to have a strong working knowledge of theories, practices and procedures in discipline and will build their own team effectiveness skills.Education Minimum Requirement:

BS in Microbiology or related Biological Sciences and relevant industry experience.

Required experience and skills:

In-depth understanding of microbiology, compendial testing and Environmental Monitoring

Desire and willingness to learn, contribute as part of a team with cross-functional interactions.

Planning, executing and evaluating GMP microbiological analyses (analysis of water, microorganism identification, endotoxin, and bioburden determinations and subsequent product testing)

Supporting smaller laboratory projects as technical lead control and material management of media, reagents, and test kits

Supporting equipment qualification, maintenance, and calibration -Documentation and management of analytical results according to applicable GMP requirements

Strong aseptic skills.

Ability to troubleshoot and critical thinking.

Ability to think logically and be proactive under pressure

Strength in delivering results on firm deadlines in support of our pipeline

Availability for occasional weekend work expectations

Contributes expertise and creativity to the collective knowledge and aids in solving project problems

Focuses on applying technical skills to execute experiments and assignments as an individual contributor with significant autonomy -day to day

Responds to standard requests from partners, customers and clients (internal and/or external)

Team collaboration to achieve objectives and meet deadlines
