Seamstress/Fabric Cutter

Smithy Home Couture, a luxury custom decorative pillow company based in Secaucus, NJ, is seeking an experienced Fabric Cutter /Machine Operator to join our production team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Accurately cut fabrics based on templates or measurements for pillow production

Match fabric patterns with precision, including stripes, prints, and repeats

Handle delicate fabrics such as velvets and linens with care

Maintain cutting area and tools in an organized and safe manner

Work closely with sewing and design teams to ensure consistency and quality.

Will train the right person to cut fabric but you must know how to sew

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience in fabric cutting, preferably in home textiles or fashion

Skilled in working with pattern-matching and directional fabrics

Experience handling high-end materials, especially velvets

Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate sewing machines effectively.

Must be ale to pick up a roll of fabric.

Must be able to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Strong attention to detail and time management

Ability to work quietly and quickly

Must speak and understand English
