Description We are in search of a Senior Commerical Property Accountant to be a part of our team, located in Jersey City, New Jersey. The role entails handling various accounting responsibilities within the real estate industry, with a particular focus on commercial properties. The Sr. Property Accountant will engage in a multitude of tasks including maintaining financial records, interacting with property managers, and utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis. Responsibilities Utilize Microsoft Excel to perform data analysis, including the use of pivots, v look ups, and formulas Handle various accounting duties related to both commercial and residential properties Utilize an ERP system, with a preference for Yardi, to manage real estate transactions Engage in strong communication practices with management and property managers for efficient operations Ensure all accounting activities align with industry standards and company policies Monitor and analyze financial reports and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met Prepare financial management reports and submit them to relevant parties Oversee CAM reconciliations Maintain accruals for multiple commercial properties, approving journal entries, and month end closings. Develop and maintain financial databases for use in tracking and auditing financial information.Requirements Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. CPA certification is highly desirable. Proven experience as an Accountant at a senior level. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Experience with creating financial statements is essential. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. Excellent numerical skills with an attention to detail. Strong time management and organizational abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. High level of integrity and trustworthiness. Legally eligible to work in the location of the job.
