AECOM is actively growing the NJ Transportation Planning practice and is seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Environmental Planner/Permitting Specialist for environmental review projects within the Transportation Business Line.  The successful candidate will oversee and prepare National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Executive Order No. 215 (EO 215) environmental review documents, as well as Federal, State, and local environmental permit application development for major infrastructure projects within NJ.  The successful applicant will join our team of existing AECOM Planning Specialists to assist in project delivery.The role is based out of our Piscataway or Bloomfield, NJ office on a hybrid office/remote schedule (3 days/week in the office, 2 days remote/week). Our Senior Environmental Planner/Permitting Specialist is a newly created role to handle our growing business of environmental permitting and documentation for infrastructure projects in NJ.  In this role, you will support the New Jersey Planning Department Manager for Impacts, Assessments & Permitting (IAP) while managing transportation projects and client relations.In this role, you can expect to:Manage and perform consulting projects to scope, schedule, and budget, learning and applying AECOM’s project management systems and software.Serve as an interface with clients and regulatory personnel on complex projects and through business development initiatives.Serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level staff.Coordinate, manage, and direct project field and data collection efforts.Prepare regulatory permit applications.Oversee wetland delineations and Land Use permitting. Perform client visits and field activities that require work outside the office and evening meetings.Develop, manage, and deliver business strategy and tactics, high-quality proposals, interdisciplinary teams, and documents and report deliverables.Proactively enforce a culture of producing high-quality work and the importance of Health & Safety within the team.Provide technical support to the IAP Department and individual Project Managers and support inter-disciplinary business development activities.Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.Support design-bid-build and design-build projects. Stay up-to-date on new technologies and industry trends. AECOM -Transportation  As populations grow, so do demands for safe, expedient and cost-effective transportation.  AECOM’s Transportation business line partners with clients around the world to build, modernize and expand transportation projects that carry all our communities into the future — safely and reliably.  We use our extensive knowledge in planning, designing and managing transportation systems — as well as restoring and replacing aging infrastructure — to help our public and private clients find smarter, more advanced ways to move people across cities, countries and continents.  Our integrated approach and social responsibility have earned us the trust of local municipalities, government agencies, commercial clients and public-private partnerships.
