Position: Senior Java Developer

Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ

Contract: 6 MonthsBENEFITS: Medical, Vision, Dental after 2 months

W2 Only

This position will require close collaboration with the product team, project managers, and the QA team. The code will be developed and tested in the same two-week sprint. A successful candidate will have a motivation to achieve team results and the ability to learn new technologies. He or she must be a strong team player with an experience base of at least 6 years in increasingly challenging assignments. Background should include design and development experience in high-traffic, high-visibility, high-quality, highly-scalable, highly-secure, high-transaction volume, and/or high-availability production environments. With limited direction, the successful candidate will:
  • Demonstrate capacity for working in a fast-moving and often dynamic development environment.
  • Have a strong background in Object Oriented design and development and a demonstrated ability to embrace and integrate new technologies and concepts into existing systems.
  • Demonstrate experience in delivery of complex systems in a wide range of technologies but must have currency and expertise in Java technologies.
  • Participate in development, testing, and support of applications, components, and services in a Java and AWS technology space.
  • Own, deliver, represent, and support components in the pre-inception, inception, elaboration, construction, transition, and post-deployment phase of an iterative product lifecycle.
  • Work with customers, internal partners, and other technical staff to resolve problems with software and systems and respond with suggestions for improvements and enhancements to the solutions and services.
  • Assist with the continuous refinement of supporting processes.
  • Develop software architecture and associated documentation as designed.
  • Collaborate with team developers and key members area to design product, maintain standards, and further product technologies.
  • Will review design and development work of other developers or be called on as a resource to investigate and resolve product issues.
  • Actively and effectively champions cross-team collaboration
Skills Required
  • 8+ years of experience in Java Tech stack
  • 2 years of experience delivering microservices in AWS and/or Pivotal Cloud Foundry leveraging DevOps and CI/CD tools/processes.
  • 4+ years of agile software development
  • 8-10 years of experience with software development and holds good track record in terms of delivery excellence and application / product knowledge
  • Full Stack experience in Design, implement, deploy, and support web-based applications and web services using server technologies stacks that include Java, JavaScript, Micro Services
  • Strong Experience in Web as well as API development frameworks
  • Should have experience in end-to-end development of software products from requirement analysis to system study, designing, coding, de-bugging, documentation, and implementation.
  • Must have Cloud Native development experience

  • Must have interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated yet geographically dispersed team of customers, leaders, interface designers, product managers, developers, implementation specialists and quality engineers.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently and productively without direction or guidance
  • Capable of exercising extreme discretion and independent judgment
  • Ability to co Have the ability to communicate proficiently to developers as well as middle management
  • Possess aptitude and interest in full stack engineering - from server side to front-end
  • Show willingness learn new frameworks and languages outside of current expertise
Skills Desired
  • Container technologies and their successful integration into the solution space.
  • Experience with CICD is a value add
  • Experience with NoSQL Database such as Cassandra and messaging platforms such as Kafka
  • Experience with API Management tools is a value add
  • Solid understanding of concepts like Web Services, REST APIs, Message Queue, Caching, Distributed/Scalable Architecture
  • Solid practitioner s understanding of secure application development best practices, such as OWASP
  • Experience working with GitHub
  • Experience working in Developer Portals
  • Experience in migrating legacy apps to Cloud especially apps build on Java tech stack
