- Qualifications:
- 5+ years of production support on DB2 z/OS, including Data Sharing
- Two or Four-year college degree in Computer Science/Management or equivalent educational/work experience
- Providing large-scale IBM mainframe DB2 infrastructure technical and operational support in a highly technical global IBM mainframe environment
- z/OS and ISV Systems Administration Job Duties:
- Conduct all aspects of DB2 z/OS database administration
- Maintain USS objects for DB2 and related products
- Create, modify, or maintain in-house written CLIST and REXX utilities
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 operational support
- Execute DDL to create, alter, delete database objects
- Create database backups and perform database restores as required
- Troubleshoot service problems; determine root cause, and provide resolutions
- Monitor database subsystem performance and derive solutions for performance problems.
- Provide guidance on good database design and implementation practices to Developers
- Ensure compliance with database policies and procedures
- Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
