Qualifications
  • Must be proficient in JCL, DDL, DML, SMP/E, TSO, REXX, and CLISTs
  • Must be proficient in CA and BMC DB2 tools and monitoring tools such as CA-Sysview and BMC Mainview
  • RACF, HSM, USS and Workload Manager as it relates to DB2 z/OS
  • Database Performance Monitoring and Tuning
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Self-motivated, independent learner, reliable, dedicated, high-energy, problem solver with good people skills
  • Ability to work and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Able to translate and communicate technical-speak into well written and spoken non-technical terms
  • Able to work with a culturally and geographically diverse global team
  • Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of production support on DB2 z/OS, including Data Sharing
  • Two or Four-year college degree in Computer Science/Management or equivalent educational/work experience

Responsibilities
  • Providing large-scale IBM mainframe DB2 infrastructure technical and operational support in a highly technical global IBM mainframe environment
  • z/OS and ISV Systems Administration Job Duties:
  • Conduct all aspects of DB2 z/OS database administration
  • Maintain USS objects for DB2 and related products
  • Create, modify, or maintain in-house written CLIST and REXX utilities
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 operational support
  • Execute DDL to create, alter, delete database objects
  • Create database backups and perform database restores as required
  • Troubleshoot service problems; determine root cause, and provide resolutions
  • Monitor database subsystem performance and derive solutions for performance problems.
  • Provide guidance on good database design and implementation practices to Developers
  • Ensure compliance with database policies and procedures
  • Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
