The I&T Leader in the Business Partner and Application Platforms group is a senior level, strategic business partner who will report to and work with the I&T Function Leader to help support and drive the overall business strategy anddeliversbusiness value results as it relates to technology and applications.
The role owns senior-level relationships and serves as a single point of focus, working to converge functions of I&T and the business functions they support. The role works to identify ways in which I&T can support andadvance objectives, in line with company, functional and I&T strategies. The role will help shape business demand and with support from the function lead, facilitate the creation of idea documents, business cases, and value plans; ensuring value optimization and communication; and enabling continuous improvement in all areas and people around them.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Develops a deep knowledge ofthe operations of Seqirusand builds positive relationships throughout. Additionally, educates the function(s)about processes, roles, and capabilities of I&T that can create value.
Supports the development and drives the I&T vision and strategy for the business function(s)supported which creates a vision and inspires confidence / creates purpose. This willrollup into overall functional I&T and Business strategy & Book of Work
Ensures business value realization and optimization, develops, and maintains technology roadmaps, business case development, financial awareness, managing expectations, and identifying opportunities where technology can add value.
Engages in consistent and effective communication including managing escalation and avoiding risk.
Developsand maintainsa well-managed initiative portfolio of programs and projects, based on the roadmaps and strategy for their supported business function.
Responsible for deliveryof a well-managed initiative portfolio.Working alongside Program/Project Managers and Business Analysts to ensure delivery of the portfolio.
Works withapplications team(s)to ensure that business applications are maintained, supported, and optimized for the functions use.
Partner with business leadership to plan new joint initiatives, evaluate proposals, and determine how technology fits into business capability roadmaps and priorities.
With the Function I&T Leader, partnerswith appropriate I&T functions to establish matrix teamstoestablish solutions
Focuses on business value and framing the problem before solutions developmenttodevelop ideas, including digital awareness, risk assessments, business continuity, and business capability requirements.
Support the onboarding ofproject/program managersinto the function and projects to ensure theyare knowledgeable about the business and their objectives.
Assist inevaluating project efforts and progress against joint strategic plans and objectives.
Be creative and innovative using industry trends and digital advances as they relate to new opportunities and business needs.
Requires a working understanding ofI&T architectural principles to business solutions. Works with Enterprise Architects to ensurealignment across relevant I&T standards, methodologies, and frameworks
Provide applicable business best practice guidance and support where needed, while supporting continuous improvement to applicable technology platforms and applicationssupported by applicable function(s). This may include multiple geographies
Seeks to understand and promoteproject management best practices, processes, and frameworks
Ability to visualize and create models/frameworks that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
Assists with thepeople and sourcing strategy to ensure the strategic goals of the business are met (Business Partnering, Project Management Support, Applications Support).
Position Qualifications and Experience Requirement
Education
Undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, mathematics, etc.
Eightyears related strategic technology leadership with exposure to the functional area supported
Bachelor’s degree/Master’sdegree or equivalent; education preferably concentrated in IT, Engineering or Science; MBA desirable
Experience
8+years related strategic technology leadership with exposure to the functional area supported
Global management experiencepreferred
Demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management and critical stakeholders
Pharma/Biotech or similarly regulated environment experience desirable
Competencies
Strategic and tactical enterprise-wide view of the business knowledge of strategy,processes,and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations, workshop facilitation and delivery, and other non-traditional forms of communication – capable of framing the problem in a meaningful and applicable manner
Collaborative mindset able to work effectively at all levels of an organization with the ability to influence others to move toward consensus
Strong situational analysis, decision making abilities and relationship management with key stakeholders across the organization
Proven leadership, especially situational leadership, in managing within a complex matrix environment
