Site Reliability Engineer- Jersey City,NJ Job Description: As a Senior DevOps Engineer within Verisk's automation group, you will be part of a team that provides managed services, platforms, automation, infrastructure-as-code, and tools that support and shape the future of our organization. Working as a Senior DevOps Engineer: Contributing to a large, dynamic, and innovative technical community Leading the design of robust, highly available, and efficient infrastructure solutions for applications and services in our multi-cloud environment Working with new technologies that expand and challenge your abilities Analyzing data to identify improvement opportunities for our services to better support the needs of our customers Providing leadership and guidance on how to best use our systems Contributing to the overall team strategy and roadmap Specific responsibilities: Design and build scalable solutions Provide DevOps support for managed platforms and services Liaise with customers and other personnel for technical design, implementation, and problem resolution Offer design guidance and support to business partners to enable optimal usage of technology solutions Introduce innovative technologies through research, proof of concepts, and implementation Develop and maintain scripts, automated processes, and documentation Participate and lead in the management of technical projects through all phases of execution Qualifications At least 3+ years hands-on experience in DevOps or software engineering 2+ years expertise with cloud platforms; AWS preferred Excellent Python, bash, and scripting fundamentals Expertise with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Chef, Terraform, or CloudFormation Experience consuming and integrating infrastructure service APIs Experience building systems where observability is a priority using protocols and tools that cover the space of log aggregation, analytics, monitoring, tracing, and alerting Proficient with containerization and cluster management technologies like Docker and Kubernetes Ability to build and design new tools from scratch In-depth knowledge of build/release systems, CI/CD systems Proficient at Linux system administration Experience with modern web services architectures Ability to quickly learn new and existing technologies Strong problem-solving skills Exceptional customer service skills Required Skills : SRE with devops on the infra side. Background should be sys engineer or admin that's moved to an SRE. Cloud is a must have. AWS Security specifically. Need infra code which allows for automation. Need to integrate API. They are supporting API gateway platform- need to communicate with Apps team and help integrate but not code. Build out infra code for automation. Focus of project is automation. They are using templates around cloud formation. Data center experience is a nice to have.
