Solution Architect - Cloud

Job Description

During an exciting period of transformation we have aunique opportunity for a Solutions Architect- Cloud to join our Global Express IT teamto support our cloud journey. We are looking for somebody who is passionate and excited about the opportunities the cloud brings to organisations.

You will take a lead role in the evaluation, development, and implementation of technologies for optimising and safeguarding the GE landscape in the cloud.

This is a newly createdpermanent position in a team of experienced architects lookinginfluence and exploitopportunities fora businessundergoing seperation and transformation activities. This is a chance for a Solution Architect to remain close to the technology, while engaging extensively with senior business stakeholders.

We are looking for individuals to bring theirexperience and make a difference by;

• Working with product and technology teams to help create and verify business and technical requirements in order to architect value-adding solutions
• Providingyour unique perspective and experience into the challenges across the architecture team
• Owning from solution design to delivery, being responsible for the technical integrity of the solution
• Facilitating meetings and workshops with stakeholders, to gather technical requirements and validate business requirements, needed to produce blueprints, architectures and designs that capture the desired future state
• Scoping, estimating and pricing the projects required to deliver your solutions, actively leading the technical vision to success
• Making or eliciting sound technical architectural and design decisions by educating stakeholders
• Leading the technical implementation of your solutions by ensuring the delivery team clearly understands the scope and parameters

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or Solution Designer and 10+ years experience in IT
• Demonstrated skillset in current cloud technologies.
• Demonstrated experience architecting or managing complex infrastructure and cloud solutions.
• Demonstrated experience working across both ‘on-premise’ & hosted cloud environments.
• Engineering experience with cloud environments including AWS and Azure experience: securing services, automating services, cost optimisation.
• Experience of working with or on transformation programs.
• Sound knowledge of cloud networks and equivalent L2 and L3 ‘on-premise’ datacentre technologies.
