Provides service to inpatient and outpatients within the department, at bedside or in the Radiology department as needed.Qualifications:Required:

Master's degree in Speech Pathology required

Completion of Speech Pathology practicum hours required

Certificate of Competency from the American Speech Language Hearing Association required

NJ Speech Language Pathology licensure required

Preferred:

Competence with MBSS preferred

Day Shift

Full-Time

40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

Administers comprehensive diagnostic evaluations.

Identifies and assesses communication and/or swallowing disorders by evaluating etiology, case history, and test results.

Counsels patient/families regarding findings, treatment goals, progress, referrals, etc.

Interprets and offers findings to physicians, etc. and determines the need for additional referrals.

Provides a thorough plan of treatment and appropriate therapy.

Prepares clear, technically sound, accurate and comprehensive documentation to include findings, impressions, recommendations, progress and other patient-related concerns.

Compiles accurate statistics, insurance forms, and charge sheets as necessary.

Promotes interdisciplinary consultation, completes continuing education for licensure and professional growth and provides in-service presentations as a ropriate.

Timely response to professional concerns of a non-clinical nature (i.e.: telephone calls, response to student needs, and reply to correspondence.)

Carries out principles of positive guest relations.

Provides peer review, supervises clinical fellows or student interns.

Applies knowledge of youth and development over the life span.

Applies knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care.

Assess data reflective of each patient's status and interpret information needed in order to identify each patient's age requirements relative to age-specific health care needs.
