Description Our client is seeking a Sr. Accountant for a contract to hire position at a non-profit organization in Newark, New Jersey. The Senior Accountant will assist with the month end close, reconcile accounts and prepare journal entries. The Sr. Accountant will also be responsible for grant management. The Senior Accountant must have MIP software experience and will have previously worked for a non-profit organization. This role has a hybrid schedule. Responsibilities Assist in managing the organization's workload and prioritizing tasks effectively Utilize your knowledge and experience with Abila MIP and Microix software for efficient financial management Handle month-end close, daily reconciliation, and journal entries as part of your regular duties Leverage your experience in non-profit and grant accounting to optimize our financial processes Play an active role in the preparation and management of financial reports and statements Assist in the application and management of grants and other sources of non-profit funding Work closely with other team members to ensure all financial operations are running smoothly and efficiently Use your skills in budget allocation to ensure all funds are used effectively and efficiently.If you are interested in applying for this contract to full-time Senior Accountant role, please contact Gillian Klypka at 551-307-0293, or email gillian.klypka@roberthalfRequirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Non-Profit industry Proven proficiency in Abila MIP and Microix software Solid experience with budget allocations, month-end close, and daily reconciliation processes Ability to prepare and analyze journal entries Expertise in Fund Accounting specific to Non-Profit sector Experience in Grant Accounting is a must Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Professional certification such as CPA is a plus.
