Job SummaryDesign and development of company products by applying Scientific and Engineering knowledge. Works closely with product development team to deliver product development goals with little to no supervision.

Main Responsibilities
  • Independently plan and conduct small to medium size assigned projects requiring conventional types of plans, investigations and/or equipment’s; Manages multiple often concurrent projects;
  • Interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources to ensure intellectual property is appropriately protected.
  • Provides technical assistance for diagnosing design and manufacturing quality problems.
  • Guides development and documentation of test plan protocols, standard operating procedures, specifications and test procedures.
  • Independently design and lead complex experiments often with multiple variables.
  • Participates in review boards for intellectual property, CAPA, complaints, and others as necessary.
  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Systems, Understand and comply with applicable EHS policies, procedures, rules and regulation.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

EquipmentWorks with standard office equipment, telephone, cellular phone, and personal computer. Operates a motor vehicle for trips to various Company sites and outside vendor, field, and customer locations; and to commute to various airports for airline travel.

Working ConditionsWork environment varies from well lighted office/cubicle, low to moderate noise level, to a variety of conditions caused by travel requirements such as customer offices, research labs, hospitals, hotels, use of automobiles, commercial travel, weather, etc.

Physical DemandsActivities require a significant amount of sitting in front of a computer monitor, some standing and walking. Significant use of hands and arms, plus finger dexterity to reach, point, write, type, operate a computer and other office equipment. Performs tasks that regularly require good correctable vision and hand/eye coordination. Activities also require significant use of voice and hearing for discussions with other employees.

Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in a Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5- 7 years of experience in technical field.
  • Strong technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Experience in Thermal, Flow and Micro-fluidic simulation.
  • Experience in design of Injection molded plastic, sheet metal and machined metals.
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
  • Experience writing protocols, executing protocols and writing protocol reports.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment. Willing to learn new technology.
  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
