Staff Accountant

Description Our Global Manufacturing client is looking to bring on a Staff Accountant to join their team. This position is based in Wayne, NJ. As the Staff Accountant in this role, you will be handling a range of responsibilities from preparing sales & use tax returns to organizing financial records, assisting in the month end, quarter end and year end closes and support the Sr. Accounting Manager on other various tasks. Having prior Sales & Use Tax knowledge/experience is highly preferred in this role. The responsibilities in the role are as follows: Conduct sales tax return preparation and filing across various states and counties. Manage the preparation and processing of monthly journal entries. Engage actively in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures. Carry out reconciliation of general ledger accounts. Deliver ad hoc reports and handle state filings as required. Undertake ad hoc analysis and projects in line with financial operations. Keep financial records up-to-date and well-organized. Oversee fixed asset and lease reporting activities. Propose improvements or adjustments to existing processes.Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required

2+ years of experience in

Demonstrated experience with General Ledger management

Familiarity with Tax - Sales & Use policies and procedures

Strong knowledge of Journal Entries

Self-Starter who has that "can-do" attitude approach

Capable of executing Month End Close procedures

Strong MS Excel skills

Experience in Fixed Asset Accounting is essential but not required

Proficiency in Month-end Close Activities is a must
