Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. As part of a CPA Firm, the Staff Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining and updating accounting records, handling tax affairs, and improving financial processes while working alongside the Accounting Manager. Responsibilities: Accurately process and categorize transactions in the general ledger. Execute month-end and year-end closures diligently. Engage in bank reconciliations and maintain harmony between the general ledger and bank statements. Conduct meetings with clients to address sensitive accounting matters. Analyze budgets and formulate detailed expense reports. Scrutinize tax policies, manage tax payments and returns effectively. Prepare necessary documents for audit processes. Provide advice to clients on financial matters via email or phone. Implement new accounting policies and ensure compliance with relevant rules and regulations. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to analyze transactions.Requirements A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role. Proficiency in bank reconciliations is required. A strong understanding of general ledger management is necessary. Experience in the preparation and posting of journal entries is essential. Experience in month-end close processes is required. Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software is necessary. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required. Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail are necessary. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks is required. A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion is necessary. A strong work ethic and team player mentality are required. The ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work is demonstrated.
