Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The role primarily involves maintaining and updating accounting records, advising clients on financial issues, and handling tax payments and return. Responsibilities: Handle the preparation of documents for audits, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date. Closely monitor and analyze budgets, and generate detailed expense reports. Conduct regular reconciliation of the general ledger and bank statements. Maintain regular communication with clients, addressing their confidential accounting issues effectively. Post and categorize transactions in the general ledger, ensuring records are neatly organized. Engage in discussions with both internal and external stakeholders to clarify and analyze transactions. Keep up to date with new accounting policies, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations. Provide advice to clients on financial issues via email or phone, delivering excellent customer service. Actively participate in the month-end and year-end closures, ensuring all financial processes are completed accurately and on time. Report to the Accounting Manager, contributing to the improvement of financial processes.Requirements Proficiency in performing bank reconciliations. Strong understanding and experience with general ledger operations. Proven ability to prepare and record journal entries. Experience with month-end close procedures. Proficiency in QuickBooks is a must. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
