Non Exempt Position Multiple rotating shifts available: 7:30am - 3:30pm / 3:30pm - 11:30pm / 11:30pm - 7:30am • Must be flexible to work all shifts • High School Diploma OR GED Required • Background check and drug test will be conducted prior to start • 30 minute paid lunch and two 15 minute paid breaks during shift. Under the direction of the Shift Foreman, responsible for maintaining cleanliness on the shop floor, and as required, fills in for the Tube Machine Operator. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works under direction of Shift Foreman. Performs alone or as a member of a group a combination of duties connected with direct support of machine forming or after-operations production areas. Manually unloads tubing from glazing or sorting machine and places in tube case on scale. Tears off one copy of ticket for Tube Machine Operator and staples remaining copies to tube case. Closes full cases, cartons or multipacks and palletizes. Labels cartons. Packs lengths of tubing into cartons by use of a bundling machine. Weighs tubing prior to determine proper weight per carton. Reads job envelope and spec sheets and will make all quality checks when relieving or assisting the TMO. During relief of TMO Checks and enters into the DataMyte the O.D., wall weight, inside diameter (as required), out of round (flat), lopside and bow measurements every 15 - 20 minutes. Interprets the SPC control charts and communicates dimensional issues to the Hot End TUO. Visually inspects length of tubing for various types of glass defects by holding to light. Defects inspected for cords, seeds stones, inside streaks, blisters and other glass defects. Tends various machines such as trim and glaze or Kim-Pack. Notifies TMO or Set-Up worker of any problems that will cause glass loss. Sorts lengths of tubing or rod by manually gauging with go-no-go, drop plug ring, strip, or other types of gauges where sorting requirements are outside capabilities of electronic sorter. Keeps available in close proximity to working areas, supplies of case lids, corrugated paper and cartons. Relieves any service crew or machine operator for lunch or breaks. Makes adjustments as necessary to keep alley packing. Performs miscellaneous related duties as assigned, including assistance on such "hot jobs " as sleeve changes and new tube draw (alley hookups). Cleans up Service Crew area and alley breaks Observes safety and good housekeeping requirements, maintains production records as required, and performs other duties assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent. The ideal candidate should be a Self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision, able to handle pressure, detail oriented, good organizational skills, dependable, communicates and understands direction clearly and concise, maintain orderly and clean environment, team player, competent and caring manner, punctual and attentive, patience and tact. Slippery Surface Work on surfaces that are slippery (glass on floor)
