Job Summary:A Sub-Systems mechanic works on small bench assemblies constructing components using fasteners and brazing & soldering of manifolds, copper pipe/tube and fittings using oxy/propylene fuel. Education: High School Diploma or GED. Technical certifications or related trainingEssential Functions: Math skills - adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing and working with fractions. Able to read measuring devices - rulers, tape measures, squares, levels, Vernier’s, and formulas. Mechanical aptitude - able to use and operate power tools, i.e.: band saw, shear, hydraulic press, hydraulic bender, drill press, table disk sander, etc. Able to read and comprehend mechanical drawings, schematics and specifications. Maintain a safe working environment for oneself and co-workers at all times. Perform general housekeeping as required. Regular in attendance and able and willing to work a reasonable amount of overtime. Will handle miscellaneous duties as assigned.Non-Essential Functions: Able to operate overhead crane, drive a forklift and pallet truck. Know proper size tips for brazing and soldering sticks.Essential Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Able to see, have good perception, and distinguish between colors. Able to stand, climb, and bend for 8-10 hours. Have good strength and be able to lift up to 51 lbs. Quick hand and arm movement, or the movement of both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Communicate information and ideas, both written and verbally so others will understand. Have a valid driver's license. Able to travel on short notice by public transportation including (i.e.: aircrafts, trains, bus, cars) domestically and internationally.Non-Essential Physical Requirements: Must disclose any surgical implants, pins, braces or other devices that could be affected by induction fields.
