Systems Engineer II

The Systems Engineer will assist with software, hardware, and network deployments in the data center. This includes following best practices regarding physical installation of equipment as well as cabling for network connectivity and power. The individual will be part of a team responsible for creating and/or maintaining up-to-date documentation, working with 3rd party vendors regarding their data circuits and network equipment, and making recommendations on overall strategy based on their prior experience.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAbility to interpret network diagramsCreate and maintain detailed documentation of all technology processes and components.Manage assigned projects and tasks and ensure timely completionRecommend strategies, roadmaps, and standards for all platform infrastructures, ensuring security, and compliance with industry best practicestroubleshooting server, storage, and network cabling or connectivity issues within a datacenterEstablish and maintain effective relationships across departments, business areas, and vendors.Provide support for complex issues, partnering with other internal teams or vendors when appropriateProvide after-hours support as needed for critical systems and projectsQualificationsDevelop solutions to problems, as well as manage multiple issues at the same timeAbility to use logic and reasoning when troubleshooting difficult issuesAbility to think outside the box; imagine innovative effective solutions and designsUnderstanding and appropriately responding to feedbackAbility to collaborate effectively with other team membersKnowledge of standard data center hardware and equipmentEducation and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent; or equivalent education and/or professional experience required2+ years' experience in Server and/or Network Support/maintenance experience requiredKnowledgeable in PowerShell scripting highly preferredWorking knowledge of Windows and Linux OS
