Job Description
Position Summary:The Systems Engineer, Senior is part of a new team (SE) that is responsible for much of the migration management process as part of the Software Process Improvement project. The primary objective is to ensure that newly developed software is delivered to business units across ETS in a timely manner. The Senior Systems Engineer provides guidance and technical decision making expertise to the SE team for on-going distribution, implementation and support for these applications. Experience and Skills Responsibilities:Participate in the development of Systems Engineering departmental architecture, standards and guidelinesPlan, coordinate and execute newly proposed as well as on going departmental processes and projectsDiagnose, report, solve and document and/or escalate technical problemsInvestigate critical technical challenges pertaining to new and established projectsParticipate in the project planning process and provide innovative recommendations for process improvementsAssume responsibility for delivery of applications in a timely manner to the appropriate department or business unitConduct follow-up and documentation procedures to capture user experienceParticipate in strategic planning activitiesFacilitate peer leadership activities and collaborate with Leads and lower level development staff to ensure that all products conform to ETS standardsContinuously identify process risks or gaps and offer solutions to address these problemsEnsure that environments across ETS are ready for applications, have correct software and hardware and that all system components are at the anticipated versionsDeploy applications to target environmentsEnsure that management of technologies is consistent with established architectural standardsMaintain 'as-built' design documentation for all ETS technologies in useParticipate in the integration of applicationsImplement database changes in a timely manner through coordination with the DBA teamAccurately document deficiencies and formulate recommendations to productively resolve any outstanding issuesMainain knowledge of relevant industry developments and trends and share knowledge with team membersProvide technical expertise on SE systems, processes, products and servicesAdhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job functionEducation, Certifications, or Special Licenses:A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.Relevant Years of Experience Required:4-7 years of progressively responsible experienceas a Systems Engineer an IT environment for mid to large sized organizationOther Requirements (Specialized skill sets, behavioral/technical):Demonstrated competency pertaining to hardware and software functionality and performanceIndepth technical expertise and knowledge of specialtyAbility to work independentlyStrong analytical and problem solving skillsExtensive understanding of ETS's goals, objectives and operating systems#DICE#LI-ER1#LI-Hybrid COVID-19 Requirements ETS requires all new hires to either certify that they have been fully vaccinated or request and obtain an exemption due to medical or religious reasons by their start date.
