UX/UI Designer

Description: We are looking for a talented Associate Director, Product Design/UX to create user-centered product solutions based on user and business insights for our client partners. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, develop experience strategies, lead and mentor other designers assigned to the project, and ability to communicate ideas both verbally and visually. This position reports to the Director of User Experience Design. Responsibilities Include:

• Collaborating with product management, data science, and engineering to define and implement customer-centric solutions from concept development to launch
• Be actively involved in defining strategy, advocating for user needs, and thinking through design systems, not just screens.
• Lead and facilitate ideation with customers and internal cross-functional teams
• Advocate for our customers, empathizing with their needs and behaviors with the ability to influence product, design, and executive decisions to develop the best UX solutions.
• As we scale, hire and develop a team of exceptional studio team members
• Knowing when to innovate and when to leverage existing solutions or established best practices.
• Evaluate user experiences holistically utilizing heuristics and experience to identify/prioritize improvements
• Supports and champions a culture of analytics and fact-based decision making through the utilization of standard methodologies and approaches
• Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, site maps and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Present and defend design proposals and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders
• Promote and contribute to UX/UI best practices, processes, and methodologies.

• 10-12 years of experience with UX/UI design, product design, and design research, ideally in either a consultancy or large enterprise.
• 5+ years experience leading or supporting design teams of 3+ designers and proven ability to drive great solutions while promoting team health.
• Significant experience working with cross-functional teams
• Able to effectively coach other designers or work as the sole designer in a cross-functional team
• Thought leader and advocate for design thinking
• Comfortable in startup environments
• Up to date with the latest UX trends, techniques, and technologies
• Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, site maps, prototypes
• Expertise in standard UX/UI software (e.g. Sketch, InVision, Balsamiq, and the like a must)
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
• Previous experience working on B2B, B2C, B2B2C eCommerce and/or data visualization is a huge plus
• BS/MS in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or equivalent project/portfolio experience
