A pharmaceutical company in New Jersey is currently seeking a new WAN Network Engineer for a promising opportunity with their growing staff. In this role, the WAN Network Engineer will be responsible for assisting in the design and engineering of the company's next-generation global network infrastructure with a specific focus on the EMEA region.
Responsibilities: The WAN Network Engineer will:- Contribute to the intake process for network design requests and provide point of contact for in-region projects
- Establish and maintain regular communications with the Architecture, Deployment, and Operations teams to answer questions related to network design
- Work with Senior Engineers in the development of next-generation network solutions (such as SDWAN and Cloud Networking) with appropriate documentation, templates, use cases and acceptance testing
- Consult with teammates and management on best practices for network standards
- Collaborate with the Automation and Tools Engineering team to assist in the development of scripts for automated configuration deployment
- Execute the release management plan as developed by Senior Engineers
- Perform other duties, as needed
- 7+ years of experience deploying, troubleshooting, and/or running a highly available production infrastructure.
- 5+ years of understanding a large enterprise network
- 3+ years of proven experience working with SD WAN and MPLS solutions
- 1+ years of automation development with scripting experience in Shell, Python, Perl or YAML.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and/or Engineering
- Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of Networking protocols required to establish Networking Connectivity (ARP, DHCP, DNS, etc.).
- Current knowledge and expert understanding and experience in Enterprise Infrastructure protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, ECMP, LACP etc.)
- Deep understanding of SDWAN and MPLS networking, including vendor specific networking technologies and solutions
- Current knowledge and understanding of Cloud Providers and Cloud Networking Solutions
- Solid understanding of Software / Cloud Applications and migration to public cloud services
- Solid understanding of Route Optimization, Route Summarization, Route Redistribution, Load Balancing, IP Address Management, and other Metwork Optimization & Management techniques
- Solid understanding of the various Network Hardware and Software manufacturers and their roles within the industry (e.g. Cisco, VMWare, NetScaler and Palo Alto)
- Solid understanding of Wired and Wireless Connectivity protocols, such as spanning-tree, wireless spectrums, wireless authentication, etc.
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
- 3+ years of Automation Development experience
- CCIE (routing / switching) or CCDE or equivalent certification
- Significant progress towards CCIE or equivalent certification
- Scripting experience in Shell, Python, Perl or YAML.
