Development Coordinator - Part-time
Santa Fe School for the Arts & Sciences, an expeditionary learning school, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative development professional to work part-time with our school and community.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in assisting with donor relations, research, and administrative tasks, contributing to the success of our fundraising efforts and the sustainability of our school. Successful staff members of our school, whether they be teachers or administrators, understand the developmental needs of children (ages 3-14), using their knowledge to promote the school's character traits of compassion, courage, respect, trust, honesty and stewardship. Energy, compassion, social-emotional intelligence, and humor will be key traits to accomplish this job.
Our Development Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in securing financial resources necessary to sustain and advance our mission and vision. The Development Coordinator will assist in implementing a comprehensive and bold fundraising strategy and plan, cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, and help ensure that fundraising activities are aligned with the school’s culture and core values. Our school is committed to the principles and practice of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, with a fundraising plan rooted in Community-Centric Fundraising (CCF).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, with ability to learn and use fundraising software (Blackbaud etapestry) and communications tools MailChimp and MySchool
Experience researching, tracking, and compiling data.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Passion for education and commitment to the mission of our school.
Experience in successful fundraising, preferably in a private school setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Data Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the etapestry system.
Assist with data entry and analysis for fundraising campaigns and activities.
Prepare reports and presentations for the fundraising committee and school leadership.
Analyze fundraising data and make informed recommendations for improvement.
Donor Relations:
Support the development team with cultivation activities, including contacting potential donors and scheduling meetings
Assist with drafting and sending personalized thank-you letters and acknowledgements.
Track donor engagement and communication.
Help create and execute communication plans to engage alumni, parents, and other members of our community.
Help organize events to connect donors with the school and its mission.
Research and Support:
Compile and organize research materials on potential donors and funding opportunities.
Assist with proposal preparation, grant writing, and reporting.
Conduct administrative tasks related to fundraising events and campaigns.
Other Duties:
Coordinate and attend fundraising committee meetings, participate in brainstorming sessions, and take detailed meeting notes
Maintain a professional and organized workspace.
Provide excellent customer service to all community members.
Stay current on trends and best practices in fundraising.
Pay Rate and Salary
This (contractor/staff) position is 10-15 hours per week and will be paid in the range of $40-$60/hour, depending on experience. There is potential for the role to become a permanent position.
Work can be done remotely with availability 1-3x a week for meetings at the school or in Santa Fe.
