Electrical Technician
High Voltage / Pulsed Power / Power Electronics
Role
Company is developing cutting-edge pulsed-energy systems and high-voltage power modules. The Mid-Level Electrical Technician will assemble, wire, test, troubleshoot, and maintain HV, pulsed-power, and power electronics hardware. This is a hands-on, lab-centered role that directly accelerates prototype systems development.
Profile
3–7 years experience as an electrical or HV technician.
Comfortable working with ?1 kV systems, power electronics, and pulsed-power hardware.
Strong troubleshooting, wiring, harnessing, and diagnostic skills.
Hands-on builder who works well in R&D environments.
Strong understanding of HV safety and electrical test practices.
Core Responsibilities
Assemble HV modules, capacitor banks, inductors, and pulsed-power subsystems.
Wire control panels, enclosures, harnesses, sensors, and high-energy circuits.
Perform HV and pulsed-power testing using oscilloscopes and HV probes.
Document assembly, updates, test results, issues, and modifications.
Implement proper insulation, grounding, and HV clearances.
Assist engineers in constructing switching circuits and pulse hardware.
Set up HV test equipment and instrumentation.
Capture waveforms, measure system behavior, and record data.
Troubleshoot prototype hardware and support root-cause analysis.
Maintain HV lab safety practices, equipment readiness, and calibration.
Qualifications
Required (Mid-Level)
3–7 years experience as an Electrical Technician or HV/Pulsed-Power Technician.
Experience with ?1 kV systems, HV cabling, and high-energy circuitry.
Ability to read and follow schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
Proficiency with oscilloscopes, probes, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong safety awareness and adherence to HV protocols.
Strong documentation and communication habits.
Preferred Experience
Experience with capacitor banks, pulsed-power systems, PFNs, or fast-switching devices.
R&D lab or prototype hardware development experience.
Familiarity with EMI/EMC practices and HV insulation techniques.
Basic machining or fabrication skills.
Anticipated Rate: $30 - $33hr+ DOE
