Come join us and help shape the future!This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Field Laboratory Technician for our Albuquerque, NM office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.Your Impact
Perform sampling of earthwork, Hot-Mix Asphalt, Base Course and crushed material at highway construction sites, portable crushers and hot-mix plants.
Perform field laboratory testing of earthwork, backfill, hot-mix, base course and other highway materials as per NMDOT minimum testing requirements, contract specifications and AASHTO/ASTM testing procedures.
Perform laboratory tests such as but not limited to gradations, proctors (soil density and moisture), R-Value, fractured face, liquid limit, sand equivalence, asphalt content
Document all test results electronically and by paper filing using prescribed forms and spreadsheets
Prepare and submit monthly summary of testing credit reports
Keep supervisor informed of all test results within 24 hours of completing the test.
Report pay quantities in Sitemanger or field source books
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
#LI-TD1Who You AreRequired Qualifications
High school diploma
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 2 years of highway and bridge construction field laboratory materials sampling and testing experience
New Mexico Department of Transportation TTCP Soils Certification; TTCP Aggregate Certification; TTCP Hot Mix Certification. (TTCP – Technician Training and Certification Program)
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Valid state driver’s license.
Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screeningThis position is contingent upon WSP being selected for a contract or program we are currently pursuing.
