Gardening & Maintenance Assistant

Our business is a seasonal Gardening Service Mid/Late March-December. Looking for a solid individual, we want an honorable human to be somebody that we can truly count on so that our kindness does not go to waste.

Someone who has passion, compassion, and attention to detail.

Who can research & problem solve with direct communication skills to communicate needs, jobsite/garden issues & ideas with ownership.

Somebody who takes pride in doing a good job, and finds fulfillment working for nature.

We need Loyal, consistent and Trustworthy with a sense of Love & Care for those around them, and nature.

Consistency in work efforts, and reliability.

A reliable vehicle that can be utilized for driving to & from work, and on the occasions you need to take a couple tools & a bucket to a job site for a solo mission. Mileage for solo missions needs to be kept track of for reimbursement,

because we occasionally send people out solo for maintenance missions etc.

Taking notes when given directives so that precision is swift, to avoid confusion or projects being unfinished.

Gardening & maintenance skills are a must.

We are not in the position to train somebody from scratch at this time.

Basic knowledge of weeds, plants, shrubs, soil, fertilizer, watering, etc.

Basic knowledge of irrigation is a plus.

We require somebody that can work on their own, and maintain the pace & flow without supervision, when the need arises.

This is a small business & not a million dollar business to run the clock with. The more we work with integrity the more we all make.

Maintenance:

Roses are reserved for the owner's responsibility, and will be taken care with minimal assistance required from employees.

Cleaning dead debris, leaves, simple pruning, watering, organizing and cleaning tools, assisting with pick up of supplies, distribution of supplies, attention to possible pest issues, picking up trash, etc.

We have rakes, shovels, leaf blower ( electric not gas), shovels, etc.

It is recommended that you eventually get your own hand tools. But we have some to utilize in the interim, while you get what works best for you.

Gardening:

Depending on the skill set of the person, they will be welcome to assistant design, advanced pruning, digging and planting, propagation, greenhouse work, ordering, soil mixing, fertilizer mixing, etc. This particular list is extensive and I will list it out further when the second interview is solidified.

There is a lot more that can be discussed over phone interview for the initial interview.

If the phone interview goes well, the applicant will be given 2-4 weeks to show that what they said they can do, they can in fact do.

Initial starting pay will be dependent on experience.

$18-$25 (with room to grow) is the typical starting range depending on experience and

the other qualities that were listed above.

30-40 plus hours available a week, with potential for more hours for those who meet the requirements and desire for more income.

We have plenty of clients and are always getting more inquiries to the point where we have a waiting list.

The owner is a very giving, loyal, and loving person, but has not been met with the same when it comes to employees.

We are looking to change that this year.
