Are you passionate about music education and thrive on organizing impactful group programs and events? We’re looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic Group Lessons and Events Coordinator to lead the way in delivering dynamic and engaging music experiences and community events.
This role supports The Candyman’s ongoing group education programs and community events, including Rock School, Summer Rock Camp, The Wanna Play? Experience, Musician’s Workshop, Student Showcases, Musical Gear Swap O’Rama, and other group-based classes, events, and workshops. This position contributes to the continuous growth of The Candyman’s group education offerings and community support. Responsibilities:
Program Development: Continue offering established group lessons while developing new group lesson opportunities.
Student and Teacher Coordination: Assign teachers to student groups, manage group schedules, and process student registrations, payments, and group assignments.
Marketing Support: Work with the marketing team to promote programs through website updates, social media, email campaigns, print materials, and in-store signage.
Payroll & Payments: Coordinate with the Private Lessons Coordinator to maintain accurate payroll records and handle payment processing.
Program Support: Ensure each group session is supported with the appropriate equipment, backline, and materials; set up and break down as needed.
Rock School & Summer Rock Camp: Oversee planning and execution of these programs including teacher assignments, communications, rehearsals, recording studio sessions, radio interviews, and final concerts.
Wanna Play? Experience: Plan and manage this annual open house, including staffing, scheduling, activities, signage, instrument setup, and event flow.
Musician’s Workshops: Collaborate with the New Mexico Music Awards to plan and execute workshops, coordinate logistics, and capture photos and videos.
Studio & Department Maintenance: Maintain clean, stocked, and organized studios and education spaces.
Administrative Collaboration: Support the Private Lessons Coordinator as needed with student inquiries, coverage during absences, and shared responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple programs at once.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Confidence in coordinating people, events, and logistics.
Comfortable using or learning tools like My Music Staff.
Creative thinker with a passion for music education.
Prior experience in program coordination or event planning.
Musical background (a plus, but not required).
