Insurance Specialist

AECOM’s Disaster Recovery Division is seeking Insurance Specialist to join our team to develop our On-Call Cadre. The cadre is designed to build a roster of qualified candidates for temporary assignments. Placement is not immediate and will occur based on operational need.Insurance Specialist will be responsible for supporting FEMA Public Assistance (PA) disaster recovery operations by evaluating insurance coverage and compliance related to FEMA PA grant funding. This position requires the ability to work in rapidly changing environments and travel to disaster affected areas. Candidates must be willing and available to deploy on short notice, as needed.The Insurance Specialist duties include:Evaluates insurance coverage and identifies duplication of benefits.Review insurance policies and related documentation such as settlements, claims, and other supporting insurance documentation.Assist applicants and staff to obtain and validate insurance information.Determine eligible damages and costs in accordance with FEMA PA policies and regulations.Provide technical guidance regarding insurance requirements, interpretation, coverage, and compliance with FEMA PA policies.Assist with compliance monitoring and maintain accurate records, reports and documentation.
