Job Description

Scope of Position

The IS Specialist is responsible for leveraging strong technical knowledge to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s business by maintaining the different technologies and systems that form the IS Infrastructure. Additionally, the role is responsible for providing applications support and process automation (scripting) responding quickly to service interruptions and service requests to maintain operations efficiency.

Job responsibilities

  • Resolve common incidents and problems efficiently and document it in the ticket system.
  • Monitor Systems backups and communicate / address issues. (SUN & Intel)
  • Provide support for server administration, systems installation, upgrades, replacement and troubleshooting.
  • Server room maintenance and administration.
  • Protect the network by monitoring applications and overall usage of internet traffic, router traffic, email file size, and other uses of our network.
  • Audio/Visual equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Telecom administration and maintenance.
  • Support branch disaster recovery efforts as they occur.
  • Leverage and fully optimize existing systems and tools.
  • Offer suggestions and comments to IS Manager for systems improvements.
  • Assist with the implementation of IS Branch projects (EDI, EXPO, BARCODE, SCANNING – EDMS/ETMS)
  • Conduct regular IS Self-audits according FAST requirements.
  • Deliver IS training to Branch’s employees.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers.
  • If necessary, participate in customer’s calls.
  • When necessary, involved in T&I project to give the necessary Is support during implementations.
  • Be constantly up to date regarding ETMS, EIFA, ECMS and EDMS.
  • Train the management team about IS concerns like: Data admin, Systems, reports, etc.
  • Help to increase branch productivity by identifying process that could be improved or automated and by developing an approved solution for them.
  • EDI internal and external support
  • Escalate issues to Manager as needed.

Security, Health and Safety

Responsible to inform immediately to the Branch’s Health and Safety representative any unsafe condition that could put employees at risk in the work place as well as any incident or accident.

Finance

  • Comply with all our policies, including the credit policy.
  • Monitor and constantly work on prevent monetary losses.

Qualifications

To be the most effective in this position we are looking for the following skills and experience:

  • IT Technical degree, or active progress in one is preferred.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in IS experience required
  • Strong PC software skills including Windows and related software applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, etc)
  • Knowledge of latest technologies and industry trends.
  • Windows automation (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of windows Server (e.g., Active Directory, Remote Administation), Unix systems, and EDI protocols.
  • PC, Printer/copier troubleshooting, maintenance and deployment knowledge and skills.
  • Mobile device troubleshooting (iOS/Android)
  • Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN)
  • Customer Satisfaction oriented.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels written and oral communication and presentations.
  • Develop and maintain a professional relationships with clients, service providers and employees.
  • Time management and attention to detail oriented.
  • Ability to complete work within standard procedures, guidelines and office policies.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • English and Spanish fluency.
