Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for an IT Director in Lovington, New Mexico, United States. The IT Director will be primarily responsible for overseeing the county-wide computer services operations. This role involves administrative and operational oversight of IT department functions and personnel, as well as the resolution of complex issues related to system software, hardware, programming, operations, and configurations. Responsibilities: Direct the county-wide computer services operations Provide administrative and operational oversight of the IT department functions and personnel Resolve complex issues related to system software, hardware, programming, operations, configurations, etc. Coordinate with County Divisions in the development, implementation, and testing of information systems and data processing programs Configure, test, and maintain all computer-related items such as servers, routers, switches, recording data, communication circuits, and VOIP infrastructure Maintain effective, detail oriented working relationships with all staff levels, other divisions, consultants, vendors, and the general public Ensure the County’s computing resources are secure, available whenever needed, are effective, and improve the County’s capacity for communicating with its employees and citizens Recommend hardware and software acquisitions Serve as principal advisor to Division Supervisors, Elected Officials, County Manager, and Board of County Commissioners regarding Information Technology Develop and monitor long and short-range IT plans, including computer replacement Develop and implement policies and procedures related to computer use, file management, inter/intranet access, security privileges, etc. Prepare progress reports to inform management of project status and deviations from goals Provide and coordinate basic level software training Plan and prioritize staffing assignments, provide constructive feedback, review, and evaluate work, and make effective suggestions and recommendations Manage operations and staff, evaluate staff, review assignments, and give direction Direct and provide help desk services Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service Manage for effective utilization of physical facilities, hardware, and software Account for space, cooling, and power requirements Determine information systems resource requirements, prioritize requirements, establish budgets, and evaluate costs vs. benefits, access feasibility, and acquire resources through established processes Perform a variety of technical hardware modifications, installations, or repairs related to PCs, monitors, printers, etc. Requirements Must hold a minimum of 10 years of experience in the IT industry, particularly in leadership roles Proficiency in Cloud Technologies is required Demonstrated experience in CRM management Strong knowledge of Database systems is essential Must possess experience in EO/IR systems Expertise in Backup Technologies is necessary Proficient understanding of Computer Hardware is required Must have experience in Contracts negotiation and management Experience in IT Deployments is necessary Knowledge of Design controls is required Excellent communication and leadership skills Must hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT or related field Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proven ability to manage and coordinate IT professionals and projects Excellent organizational and time-management skills Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
