We pride ourselves on excellence, and we are looking for a skilled cook to join our back-of-house team as our Jr. Sous Chef to learn and work directly with Chef Angel Franco!

Compensation depends on the individual's skills and experience; the starting rate is at least $25/h.

Health, dental, and vision insurance is available after 30 days of work. It is offered to all employees, both part-time and full-time. The company pays for 50% of the insurance cost.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Preparing and cooking food using the established production procedures and systems

Ensuring availability of supplies and food or approved substitutions in adequate time for preparation, serving, or ensuring proper serving of food.

Complying with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene, and health standards; observing proper food preparation and handling techniques

Storing food properly and safely by marking dates and items

Reporting necessary equipment repair and maintenance

Correctly preparing all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders; portioning food for serving

Planning food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature, and appearance of food are preserved

Keeping work area neat and clean at all times; cleaning and maintaining equipment used in food preparation

Performing other work-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred

Must be at least 18 years of age

Two years minimum experience in food service positions on hotline production

Ability to work under pressure and in a stressful work environment while keeping composure and completing the assigned task

Moderate reading and writing skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures

Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; cooperates and works together with all co-workers; plan and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment

Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less, as well as go up and down stairs

Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee must frequently use hands or fingers and handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is regularly required to lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The employee is regularly exposed to kitchen equipment (e.g., oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer, and chef's knives).

Shift:

Up to 8 hours per shift

Five days a week, 2:00 pm - 10:30/11 PM - Some prep days may also be needed, and you must be able to work Sundays.
