Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to head up our brand new Fraud software team in Sydney.This is a hands on role that will be developing new features to our customers which meet the needs of our business.You will be leading the team and responsible for solutioning, developing, deploying and supporting our fraud management platform. The platformis deployed throughout Australia, NZ and Singapore and is our primary line of defence in combating toll fraud within our business.

What you'll do as a Lead Software Engineer:

  • Hands on development of stable, secure and well architected code
  • Own the end-to-end solution and delivery of our Fraud product
  • Have full autonomy to drive technical decisions and direction within your team
  • Continually improve engineering practices within the team
  • Lead, develop and mentor 1 direct report, with potential to grow your team in the future

Qualifications

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Strong coding skills in Java with exposure to large scale applications
  • Experience in uplifting and improving technical codebases
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies
  • You continually automate manual processes to drive efficiency
  • Some experience in leading a small team, or ready to take that next step
  • A sense of ownership of technical projects and improvement of engineering practices
  • You are a person who continually self learns, are curious and tenacious, as well as a great team player
  • Bonus points forexperience in Telecommunications
