Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunityWe are looking for a Casual Lifeguard to join our team at Hiwa, the university’s state-of-the-art Recreation Centre located right in the heart of Auckland on Symonds Street.This is much more than a typical pool role as you will be working at a vibrant hub for sport and wellbeing that serves as the social heartbeat for our students and the wider community. Our Aquatic Hall is a world-class facility featuring a versatile stainless-steel pool, dive wells with springboards, and premium recovery spaces like our spa and sauna.As a casual lifeguard, you will work on an as-needed basis with no fixed hours, providing the ultimate flexibility to pick up shifts around your other commitments. You will be responsible for the safety of a diverse range of patrons while enjoying the buzz of a central city campus. If you have a background with the university or simply thrive in an active and social setting, this is a brilliant chance to develop your professional skills in a facility that represents the very best in modern recreation design.The main responsibilities of this role include:General lifeguard duties, including pool supervisionProviding exceptional customer servicePool water testing and monitoringEnsuring pool safety and H&S standards are metThis is a casual position with no fixed hours or schedule. It offers you the opportunity to earn money on any day of the week with no long-term commitment. The hourly rate will be $28.53.
