Job Description

Position Summary:

The basic purpose or function of this position is to manage the functions of Coatings and Maintenance activities including the resolution of operational issues, administering the allocation of assets, manpower, evaluating/monitoring costs and expenses, and setting and achieving production/shipping goals. Ensure compliance with customer requirements. Oversee, monitor, and document employee training, performance, and compliance of company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee functions of production supervisors and hourly personnel.
  • Communicate with Director of Operations on regular basis.
  • Promote Operational Excellence through utilization of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Principles.
  • Provide accurate reports/presentations to management pertaining to business activities.
  • Evaluate processes for potential changes/improvements.
  • Leadership role model in terms of professional behaviors and personal accountability.
  • Create and/or modify production and control standards.
  • Ensure production of quality parts at the lowest possible cost while adhering to production standards.
  • Meet long and short range plans.
  • Adhere to and enforce all Company health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Resolve performance/disciplinary issues with employees in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Comply with Customer/F.A.A. requirements.
  • Meet TAT requirements on shipments.
  • Re-enforce standards through coaching and routine follow up.
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide accurate and timely performance feedback to management.
  • Adhere to and promote Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Company IPM/QPM and ISO-9000 quality requirements.
  • Ensure management compliance with MOS principles.
  • Be a trainer, mentor, and coach to assigned production staff.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment by enforcing and supporting 5S principles.
  • Communicate with employees on their performance and help them achieve their daily expectations.
  • Traveling outside the facility as required.
  • Interview applicants, as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Technical background related to coatings of turbine blades and vanes.
  • Knowledge of EB-PVD, LPPS, APS, Heat Treat, Aluminide coatings.
  • Ability to accurately interpret blueprints and/or drawings.
  • Proven leadership.
  • Proven problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Minimum five (5) years managing aerospace manufacturing operation.

Education:

  • BS Engineering or Business degree or equivalent.
