Job Description

Toll Global Forwarding New Zealand are searching for a Senior Export Ocean Operator to manage the timely and accurate processing of client export shipments to meet customer and TGF KPI's. In this role, you will own a large, newly won account for the business, and manage the client expectations, as well as be responsible for the end to end export operations of the cargo.

Based in our Auckland office, you will report directly to the Ocean Product Manager - NZ and work within the wider team to ensure bookings are made in line with customer forecasts and allocations. This is a fantastic entry point for someone wanting to contribute to the growth of TGF, and would allow for leadership opportunities in the future.

As the Senior Export Ocean Operator, you will:

  • Drive the ocean export function for this large account end to end, including receiving bookings, forecast management, and process until the cargo is at the end destination.
  • Liaise with multiple internal and external parties such as carriers and service providers to ensure information integrity and an exceptional customer experience.
  • Manage the customer relationship by proactively problem solving, identifying growth areas, and delivering to TGF and customer expectations.
  • Lead by modelling the Toll Way and championing Toll Values within the Exports team internally.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable previous experience in freight forwarding, specifically, ocean freight and export operations.
  • Extensive working knowledge and relationships with providers, including carriers and co-loaders.
  • A strong customer focus, with an analytical and problem solving mindset, delivering continuous improvement.
  • Natural tendency towards collaboration, and exceptional interpersonal skills.
