If you answered yes to these questions, then a career with VMware might be for you.The Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Integration team in IT department of VMware Inc. is looking for a Senior Manager IT M&A Integration to lead multiple M&A deals (acquisitions and divestitures) across multiple teams and business units. You will feel empowered to innovate, run initiatives, design, and drive best practices. You will be exposed to a wide range of software platform technologies that are utilized by customers all over the world. Our team works to promote a culture of agility, operational rigor, visibility, accountability, and data-informed decisions.Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 3 to 6 months you will work toward completing?Within 30 days of being part of our team, you will get to know key functional IT, M&A and business stakeholders within VMware to start building relationships and start working on our team’s objectives and key results (OKRs)

Within 60 days, you will collaborate with the IT M&A, delivery, operations, and IMO teams to review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement for predictable and faster integration

Within 60 to 90 days, you will lead VMware M&A initiatives (end to end IT scope) working with cross functional stakeholders and keep initiatives on track including reporting on status and managing escalations

After 90 days, you will operate independently and yet with strong support and collaboration within the IT M&A Integration management function leveraging existing processes as well as developing best practices across as continuous improvement.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?Your regular activities may be modified to meet your professional strengths as well our team’s business needs, and you can expect a variety of the following interesting assignments …Manage M&A deals end-to-end from IT perspective including IT discovery (confirmatory and operational DD), Day 1 Integration and post Day 1 integration execution to achieve IT synergy targets

Develop key diligence artifacts including agendas, data request lists, interview guides, high-level roadmaps, one time and recurring cost analysis models, benchmark analysis, synergy analysis, contract analysis, IT-related transition service agreement schedules, high-level integration, divestiture and/or standup roadmaps, deliverables, and other related artifacts

Document and communicate diligence results including, as-is state, scope statements/t-shirt estimates, gaps & risks associated with IT enablement, IT maturity, technical debt, Information security & Compliance and develop an action plan to address diligence results in the M&A Integration context

Set the expectation with acquired company subject matter experts and leadership on what to expect starting day1 and beyond including 30-60-90-120 plan as part of an integration

Drive decision, facilitate discussion to define and design To-Be landscape

Manage M&A IT systems and process integration planning and execution of the interim and end state plans across IT core services such as infrastructure, cloud, network, security, messaging and collaboration as well as IT business application landscape from lead-to-cash, go-to-market and global support perspective

Collaborate and work with cross functional M&A leads, vendor resources as well as target company employees to fulfill integration goals

Develop and maintain strong, effective relationships within the organization and engage stakeholders across the organization to deliver desired outcomes

Identify opportunities to improve process and collaboratively institutionalize changes

Develop IT M&A best practices, tools, and artifacts for the group

Maintain and apply comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, processes, and best practices to drive activities in the deals

Strong critical thinking skills. Experience applying various methodologies or practices to assess processes, business issues and people. Ability to extract key messages from detail and translate into audience appropriate messages.
