Description

Robert Half is seeking multiple System Administrators for a New Mexico based organization.

Hybrid work schedule available

System Admin(responsible for maintaining optimal performance of mission critical systems and applications to assure continuity of service. Required to report, troubleshoot, and correct system errors and problems. Participates in the design of systems, oversees installation, and coordinates system upgrades, maintenance, and downtime to users. Serves as second level of escalation for any issues I.T. Technicians cannot resolve without further education or training. I.T. System Administrator cooperates with Network and Security Administrators as needed to integrate required communication and security measures. Maintains documentation of system configurations and processes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• System and Application Management

- Monitor, upgrade, and manage VMware virtual server and desktop environments

- Monitor, upgrade, and manage multiple SAN systems

- Monitor, upgrade, and manage Microsoft Exchange environment

- Manage Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy for enterprise Windows Domain

- Monitor, manage, apply patches, and update systems

- Manage multiple databases. Duties include installs, security access, querying, managing logs, backups, and restores

- Provide performance tuning and capacity planning functions for all software systems

- Manage all planned system upgrades and project-related installs

- Identify system inadequacies or deficiencies and submits recommendation for enhancement to I.T. Senior Systems Administrator

• Problem Solving and Technical Skill Development

- Resolve unfamiliar or unknown system problems using creative thinking and cooperative effort of the I.T. staff

- Supervise efforts of I.T. staff to resolve system-based problems or errors

- Cooperate and maintain communications with technical support companies

- Research new technology to improve quality of systems and the I.T. staff

- Continue with education and technical training to acquire certifications/degrees.

• Documentation, Backups, and Disaster Recovery

- Research areas of enhancement to increase system performance and stability

- Document system configurations and update as needed

- Manage and update backups for all necessary systems

- Collaborate with I.T. Security administrator to test and document successful disaster recovery procedures.

- Oversee and coordinate efforts of staff in the event disaster recovery procedure(s) are initiated

The successful System Admin(s) will have:

Required Skills

VMware Horizon or other EUC Virtualization;

Exchange Management ;

O365 Management;

Nimble / Alletra Management ;

VMware ESXi / VCSA Management - (Desired)

- Ability to analyze potential problems and select proper course of action

- Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot complex I.T. systems

- Must possess strong verbal, writing, and typing skills

- Ability to quickly grasp new concepts

- Ability to apply logic and reasoning to quickly determine effective approaches to challenging problems

Education & Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED Certification

• I.T.-related college degree or equivalent experience

• Three (3) years' experience in an enterprise I.T. environment

• See additional technical experience and proficiency requirements below

Licensing & Certification Requirements:

• At least one IT systems-related certification is preferred (e.g. MCP, MCSA, MCDBA, VCP, Server+)

Computer Equipment, Software, and Machinery Requirements:

• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft SQL is preferred.

• Experience with VMware or other virtual environment is preferred.

• Experience with SAN systems is preferred.

• Experience with Linux OS is a plus.

• Experience in point of sale systems is a plus.

• Experience in accounting/HR software systems is a plus.

• Experience in audio/video systems is a plus
