Description We are seeking an Entry Level Accountant to join our team in New York, New York. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity and will involve various accounting functions such as payroll processing and accounts payable. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, resolving inquiries, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting department.Responsibilities: Process customer credit applications with precision and efficiency Maintain accurate customer credit records Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status Prepare and transmit payroll through the contracted payroll system Update payroll with changes in tax, personnel information, and voluntary deductions Coordinate pay dates and validate payrolls Prepare and reconcile payroll labor allocations Work with vendors on payroll issues and payroll tax issues Support in preparing invoices for payment by obtaining approvals, matching purchase order numbers, and researching for possible duplicate payments Assist in the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department Support in preparing and maintaining accounting schedules such as accounts payable accruals, prepaid expenses, etc. Assist outside Auditors with all required schedules, year-end audit requests, and auditor’s questions Maintain and file accounts payable documents Use accounting software and ERP solutions proficiently to carry out duties Perform account analysis and reconciliation Utilize Adobe Acrobat and Dynamics NAV for document management and financial tasks Requirements Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role. Proficiency in account coding and account analysis is required. Demonstrated ability to handle accounting functions and entries. Experience in account reconciliation and managing accounts payable. Familiarity with LEED Accounts Payable. Proficient in using accounting software systems and ERP solutions. Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and Dynamics NAV is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
