Job Description: Our client, a NYC International Global Investment Bank is looking for a consultant who can act as an

Accounts Payable Manager.
  • The job is remote to start but will be Hybrid starting in January. Candidates need to be local to the NY Office
  • Candidates must be a W2 Consultant

THE DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES: The purpose of the role of Accounts Payable Manager is to provide oversight of the day to day operations of the Accounts Payable Department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier and employee payments. Specific activities include:

  • Supervise, train and motivate Accounts Payable staff
  • Act as liaison between Accounts Payable and internal and external parties, including suppliers
  • Oversee department activities such as disbursing wires, ACH, and checks, and ensure they are completed accurately and timely
  • Maintain accurate and complete records regarding payments to suppliers and employees
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Compile, analyze and report financial information to management as needed
  • Develop, implement, improve and enforce budgets, policies and department controls to increase accuracy and efficiency
  • Assist with month end closing
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits
  • Build and maintain relationships with employees and vendors
  • Optimize department processes

THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE ROLE:
  • BS/BA or MS/MBA in Accounting required.
  • 5 - 8 years of progressive Accounts Payable experience in large, complex banking or financial institutions.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and comfort interfacing with senior management.
  • Strong systems and product knowledge as it relates to the securities industry
  • FINRA Series 99 required - can be obtained after joining
