A NYC government agency located in Queens, NY is looking for a Application Systems Administrator. The contract is currently set to last till the end of March 2022 with a high probability of becoming a multi-year engagement.

The city agency is seeking a qualified consultant for Application System Administrator role. The consultant will be responsible for working with Solution Directors, Project Managers, application development staff and IT Security to coordinate the resolution of a wide variety of system vulnerabilities from OS patching, Application level patching, OS configuration and communication protocol configuration on both Servers and client devices.

To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to abide by NYC Executive Order 78 and 79, which states that consultants must wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test. Requirements and skills

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience administering enterprise level Active Directory Multi-Domain environment Windows Server 2003 through 2019
  • Experience with creating and troubleshooting Group Policies in said environment
  • Knowledge of DEVOPS in a hybrid on-site and cloud environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure environment
  • Knowledge of Azure Container creation and management.
  • Experience with Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS) and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol(LDAP)
  • MCSE or MCSA (2012 or 2016) required.
  • Experience with Citrix XenApp is a plus.
  • Experience with Terminal Services.
  • Experience with PowerShell is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide Windows server support for both physical and virtual windows servers at various locations
  • Configure and administer Windows servers from version 2003 to 2019.
  • Assist in the ongoing deployment of server hardware, software, and application; provide technical support, troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift 35 pounds+ is required to move computer equipment from location to location.
  • Rack and cable servers; remove servers and prepare for salvage.
  • Analyze, support, and administer existing Windows based systems and provide troubleshooting strategies.
  • Install and support application in Azure
  • Ensure Azure configurations are secured
  • Applying operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
  • Manage the Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD infrastructure and collaborate with various teams to ensure it integrates seamlessly with all components including network, security, messaging, and remote access.
  • Create and manage group memberships and / or group policy objects within Active Directory.
  • Diagnoses and resolves end-user issues regarding server, file sharing/permissions, printers, hardware, email, Internet, VPN, network access and being consultant for computer and network problems beyond the knowledge of technical support staffs/technicians.
  • Assist with the Backup and Restoration of files and/or servers.
  • Maintain Physical and Virtual server inventory.
  • Ensure all hardware is under warranty and maintain warranty records.
  • Travel to other work sites when required.
