About the Role:Grade Level (for internal use):10Role: AssociateUS Location(s): New York, NY - Chicago, IL - Boston, MACanada Location(s): Toronto, ONThe Team: The S&P Global Corporate Commercial Team is responsible for optimizing relationships and commercial outcomes for 1,200 of the largest companies in the U.S & Canada. We are a close-knit team and collaborate continually to brainstorm solutions that help our clients overcome their complex business challenges. The team is competitive, fun, energetic, and intellectually curious.The Impact: The Associate is responsible for supporting the Commercial Corporate team in the management of existing rated issuers and new business accounts, delivering a positive overall client experience, and ensuring the timely execution of transactions. This client facing role will research & prospect new clients as well as help support a book of business made up of key players in multiple industries. The Associate will work in close collaboration with all members of the team and will be a strategic pillar in supporting the achievement of the team’s revenue target.

Responsibilities:

Research and connect with prospective accounts by executing dedicated, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives.

Assist the team with the pricing of transactions and managing new clients through the engagement/onboarding process.

Focus on retaining and growing business by ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

Communicate with clients regarding significant issues and direct immediate resolution.

Provide Ratings360 platform and product functionality training and support to clients. Gather client feedback to support product improvements and upgrades.

Attend meetings alongside the team to gain experience in positioning S&P’s products/value proposition and to learn best practices.

Support telephone and e-mail marketing campaigns to issuers to introduce S&P’s Sustainability and Cyber products.

Use Salesforce.com proactively to ensure the database properly reflects the status of each client, prospect, and opportunity and work on database clean-up projects.

Track customer & industry developments and trends and report to team

Participate in and contribute to team meetings

What We’re Looking For:

2-4 years of relevant work experience

Understanding of the Debt Capital Markets / Fixed Income arena

Entrepreneurial mindset; demonstrates drive, initiative, energy, and sense of urgency

Solid organization, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills

Knowledge of CRM databases (such as Salesforce.com)

Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word)

Desire and flexibility to learn and grow in an ever-changing environment

Bachelor’s degree required and advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) beneficial

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of finance and accounting principles

Knowledge of capital markets and the credit ratings process

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $59,800 to $118,900. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.
